Georges Roudneff (1933) was born in Faymoreau, Vendée, to a Ukrainian mother and a father from a native Russian family. He spent his early childhood in Nice where he discovered the workshops of Slavic painters, who were friends of his parents. In 1950, Roudneff arrived in Annecy, France and established an atelier for furniture restoration.
