Louis-François-Sébastien Fauvel (1753 - 1838) was a French painter born in Clermont, France and was mostly based in Athens. He was also a diplomat and archaeologist. Fauvel partook in expeditions in Greece, Egypt, and the former Ottoman Empire. He depicted his cultural findings and rich cultures various paintings.
