Meissen porcelain, or Meissen china, is Europe's first manufacturer of porcelain, with early experiments dating back to 1708. The production of Meissen porcelain started in 1710 in Meissen, Germany. It attracted artisans and artists who, altogether, created the most famous porcelain manufacturer in the world. Its signature logo, the crossed swords, was designed in 1720 to protect and authenticate its production; the mark of the crossed swords is said to be one of the oldest trademarks in history.
