Andrée Pollier: "Lumière sur la A.A. 2000" - IB08821

Ref:
IB08821

Oil on canvas by Andrée Pollier (1916 - 2009) representing a striking and highly modernist composition by Andrée Pollier, executed in 1935, exploring themes of light, space, and geometric abstraction. Against a deep, atmospheric ground of rich brown and black tones, a series of luminous orange and yellow prismatic forms appear to float in suspension, ascending in a dynamic zigzag rhythm through the picture plane. The carefully modeled geometric elements create a compelling illusion of depth and movement, evoking a futuristic architectural structure or a beam of light unfolding through space.

The restrained palette, combined with the dramatic contrast between the glowing forms and the dark background, reflects the artist's interest in the interplay of illumination and volume. Painted several decades before the widespread development of Op Art and Minimalist abstraction, the work demonstrates a remarkably forward-looking visual language rooted in early twentieth-century avant-garde experimentation.

Signed at the front and back with an inscription "Lumière sur la A.A. 2000".
