Soly Cissé (1969 - present) is a painter, draughtsman, and sculptor from Dakar, Senegal. Cissé was raised during a time when Dakar's people began to repair, clean, and beautify the city after years of riots and political instability. His art became a mean for social activism among the Senegalese youth. His paintings are both graphic and pictorial. He paints fantasy worlds where silhouettes emerge from disharmony and chaos.  He also merges human and animal forms into bizarre hybrids.
