Round acrylic on canvas by Mohammed Al Hawajri (1976– ) depicting an Arabic calligraphy reading “Life and Death,” surrounded by an arabesque motif. Signed and dated ’07, front and back. Born in 1976 in the Bureij Refugee Camp in the Gaza Strip, Mohammed Al Hawajri is a prominent figure in contemporary Palestinian art and co-founded the Eltiqa Group for Contemporary Art in Gaza in 2002.
