A refined 18K yellow gold ring featuring a large oval faceted amethyst in a classic claw setting. The amethyst has a rich violet-purple hue with attractive variations in tone and transparency, enhanced by the stone's faceted cut. The substantial gemstone is held securely by sculptural gold claws, while the shoulders and slender shank create an elegant contrast with the imposing central stone. 

The underside of the setting is open, allowing light to pass through the stone and enhance its color. The ring is marked on the shank.
