Daum is a studio that manufactures crystalware. It was founded in 1878 by Jean Daum (1825 - 1885) in Nancy, France. His two sons, Antonin and Auguste Daum, further developed the company during the Art Nouveau period. Today, Daum remains the only crystalware manufacturer that employs the pâte de verre, or glass paste, technique for crystal and glass sculptures. The technique involves packing crushed glass into a refractory mould and then fused.
